Mai 36 Galerie at Art Basel 2025 Hall 2.1, Booth B11
Mai 36 Galerie is pleased to announce its presentation at Art Basel 2025.
At the center of the booth is a large-scale work on canvas from Thomas Ruff’s latest series experiences lumieuses, shown in parallel with our exhibition at the gallery during Zurich Art Weekend.
A special highlight is an oversized print of Robert Mapplethorpe’s iconic double portrait Ken Moody and Robert Sherman, 1984, reaffirming the lasting power of the photographic image. The booth also includes a compelling presentation of works by Peter Hujar and Paul Thek, friends and collaborators, a curated selection of works on paper and canvas by Irma Blank, new works on suede by the British artist Poppy Jones and a new portrait by German painter Magnus Plessen. Premiering for the first time at the fair with Mai 36 with be sculptures by Swiss artist Raphael Hefti and Dutch artist Magali Reus.
In parallel, Mai 36 hosts the satellite exhibition GIGER / DUPUY, featuring works by legendary Swiss artist HR Giger, on view at Bleichestrasse 3 in Basel.
